Delete your data

How to ask

Email privacy@scouteventmanager.com from the address your account uses, and tell us:

• your name
• the email address on the account
• that you want your personal data deleted
• the event it relates to, if it is about one event rather than your whole account

If you cannot email from that address, say so and we will find another way to check it is you. There is no self-service delete button yet, so a person handles this. We are building the tools to make it immediate.

What we delete

Your account and the personal details held with it, which can include:

• your name, email address, date of birth, gender, phone number and address
• medical information, allergies and dietary requirements
• emergency contacts, and parent or guardian details
• your bookings, event registrations and any answers you gave when registering
• photos you posted, challenge entries, and messages you sent through the platform
• your profile photo and any signed permission forms

What happens next

• we check the request really comes from you
• we deal with it within one month, and usually much sooner
• we delete the data from the live platform and confirm by email
• backups are overwritten on a 14 day cycle, so copies disappear within that period

If your request is about an event you attended, the group running it controls that information, so we may need to pass your request to them. We will tell you when we do.

We keep the minimum the law requires, such as records of payments for tax purposes.

Using the app

In the mobile app, Settings has a Delete saved data option. That clears the copy held on your phone for use offline. It does not delete your account, so email us as well if that is what you want.

Your other rights

You can also ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or object to how we use it. The privacy policy covers all of it, including how to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
